Ex-FRSC boss emerges governorship candidate

Former Corps Marshal and Chief Executive Officer of Federal Road Safety Corps and Ex-Minister of Power and Steel, Olu Agunloye, was on Saturday in Akure,  voted as candidate of the Social Democratic Party for the forthcoming Ondo State governorship election.
 Premium Times report that the  primary election, which was monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Ondo State, was coordinated by the Deputy National Chairman of the party, Abdul-hmed Ishiaq, along with other national officers.
Mr. Agunloye was the sole aspirant during the election, and received a total of 277 votes of the 311 delegates accredited for the election.
A total of 290 votes were cast, but 13 were voided.
Mr. Agunloye, after his election, said he would put in his best to develop the state if elected governor of the state.
The Chairman of the party in Ondo State, Duyile Korede, described the SDP candidate as a man who had been tested in public office in the past and had a record of success.
Mr. Korede enjoined the people of Ondo State to vote for SDP in order to rescue the state from collapse through effective governance provided by the party.
