FCMB to Support 5th COPA Lagos Beach Soccer

First City Monument Bank (FCMB) Limited, the major sponsor of the 2015 COPA Lagos Beach Tournament scheduled to hold between December 18 and 20 in Lagos has reiterated its commitment to the organisers of the event, Kinetic Sports Limited.

Speaking at a breakfast launch held at Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos yesterday to herald the 2015 edition of the tournament, Head, Corporate Communications/CSR and Youth Segment & Diaspora Business of the FCMB, Uchenna Mojekwu, said that this year marks the fifth consecutive year FCMB has been a major sponsor.”The involvement of the Bank in this exciting beach soccer fiesta is a demonstration of our unflinching support to the development of sports and the youth in Nigeria. This is because of the huge opportunities sport offers, not just to the people, but for national unity.

“The excitement and bond generated by previous editions of COPA Lagos Beach Soccer is a testimony to this. It is hence, FCMB’s continuous desire to champion and support worthy courses that benefit the youth and enhance national development.

Apart from the excitement FCMB will build around the football matches, we have also lined up a number of activities to make the tournament fun-filled, engaging and impactful.

The Chief Executive Officer of Kinetic Sports, Samson Adamu, announced that the FC Barcelona Beach Soccer Team will be participating at this year’s event; and they will play against several local teams including Pepsi Beach Soccer team in the FC Barcelona Challenge. Other national teams expected to partake in the tournament include England national beach soccer team and other teams to be announced later.

“The 2015 Edition is much more than a sports event. Copa Lagos is a lifestyle. There is something for everyone.

“Kinetic Sports Management wants to make this year’s edition that will be kicking off intentionally with a new date of Dec’18 -20, 2015 to be a memorable one to linger for a long time in the minds of the people.

“We are preparing to go beyond the limits to make it an anniversary celebration with a new dimensional focus on concert and fashion.

The programme of this edition also includes the ‘Clean The Beach Exercise’ scheduled for December 5 as well as the ‘The Beach Soccer Kids Clinic’ listed for December 17 with over 100 kids between the ages of 8 -14 years in attendance to learn the skill of beach soccer.

Other sponsors of the Copa Lagos Beach Soccer Tournament includes; Pepsi, Orlean Investment and Louis Roederer while its media partners are Super Sports and Cool Fm.
