NPA to sanction terminal operators over huge debt

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) is to withdraw its services from some terminal operators over unspecified huge debt.

  Reviewing NPA’s 2017 activities, Managing Director, Hadiza Bala Usman said efforts are ongoing to compel the terminal operators to settle their debt.

 Speaking during an interview with TVC monitored by City BusinessNews in Lagos, Bala Usman disclosed that Heritage Bank is yet to remit money collected onbehalf of the Authority.

  Bala Usman used the opportunity commend all NPA staff for their contributions to the success recorded in 2017, adding that the Authority has the capacity to handle large vessels.

   Bala Usman assured stakeholders of NPA’s determination to improve the present state of infrastructure.

   Meanwhile, for the financial year ended December 31, 2017, the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) generated N299billion.

  The Authority had at the beginning of 2017 set for itself revenue target of N286billion.
