Hyundai Motor has announced intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT) for the Hyundai Venue compact Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV).
According to the auto firm, this is the first-in-industry dual-Pedal Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT) technology.
The iMT will be available with the Hyundai Venue compact SUV’s Kappa 1.0-litre T-GDi Petrol (BS-VI) engine, which is clubbed with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Hyundai claims the iMT offers enhanced control on the vehicle through manual gear shifting without the need to operate clutch for a comfortable and superior drive experience.
Hyundai’s iMT technology features a Transmission Gear Shift (TGS) lever with Intention Sensor, Hydraulic Actuator and Transmission Control Unit (TCU).
The Transmission Control Unit receives a signal from TGS Lever Intention Sensor, indicating drivers desire to change gears and sends a signal to engage Hydraulic Actuator forming Hydraulic Pressure.
The Hydraulic Pressure is then sent to Concentric Slave Cylinder (CSC) through Clutch Tube.
