West Blue Consulting, a market leader in ICT services and trade solutions, has been adjudged the “Software Development Company of the Year” at this year’s edition of the Nigeria Technology Awards Night, held in Lagos, recently.
Also at the ceremony, the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Valentina Mintah, was presented with a “Special Recognition Award” for her excellent contributions to the growth of the Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) industry Africa.
The Nigeria Technology Awards (NiTA) is one of the continent’s recognized platforms that promotes and celebrates the achievements of technology entrepreneurs, innovators, inventors, academicians and policy makers involved in ICT related activities within and outside Africa.
According to the award promoters, stakeholders’ response was relatively very high this year. The entries and nominations committee of the Nigeria Technology Awards recorded 3,556 submissions for 92 categories. 102,000 votes were counted, resulting in 300 shortlisted entries, with a final 54 award winners.
Dignitaries at the awards ceremony include representatives of the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode and the Honourable Minister of Communication Technology Barrister Adebayo Shittu. In his goodwill message, Governor Ambode commended the organizers for the transparency and credibility of the selection process; he urged the award nominees and eventual winners not to rest on their oars.
The two awards won by West Blue Consulting were received on behalf of the company’s CEO by the General Manager, Mr. Kabir Bashir. He thanked the organizers of NiTA for the honour bestowed on his organization, and assured them of West Blue’s commitment to remain a pacesetter in the ICT industry globally.
