Airtel Nigeria, a subsidiary of Airtel Africa has paid N58.7 billion to the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to renew its 2×10 MHz 2100 MHz spectrum license.
A statement to the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) signed by Company Secretary Simon O’Hara explained that once renewed, the license will be valid for 15 years following the expiry of the previous license (31 April 2022).
“This investment to renew the license reflects our continued confidence in the opportunity inherent across the Nigerian market, supporting the local communities and economies through furthering digital inclusion and connectivity.”
