The National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) and Schneider Electric have commenced constructive deliberations on possible collaborative engagements aimed to further promote the use of renewable energy in Nigeria.
Speaking at the engagement meeting held at NADDC headquarters in Abuja, the NADDC Director General,Joseph Osanipin, represented by Director, Policy, Planning and Statistics Mr. Sani Musa expressed Council’s commitment to increasing public access to Electric Vehicles (EV) and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Vehicles.
He highlighted some of the Council’s initiatives in promoting renewable energy in Nigeria, including the establishment of EV charging stations, CNG Powered Vehicle Conversion Centres and various training programs geared towards upgrading capabilities of local auto technicians.
The leader of the Schneider Electric team who also doubles as the President Schneider Electric, West Africa, Mr. Ajibola Akindele, earlier in his presentation highlighted the company’s 200-year legacy in digital automation and energy management, emphasizing longstanding presence in the industry.
Reiterating the exigency of the partnership, Mr Akindele assured of a complementary EV Charger by Schneider Electric to NADDC for on the spot assessment of their expertise by Council officials.
The discussion was centered on establishment of key infrastructural facilities in strategic public places, as part of efforts to facilitate transition to renewable energy in Nigeria.
The synergy underscores NADDC’s deep commitment to providing sustainable energy solutions with special focus on EV charging stations and CNG vehicle infrastructure expansion in the auto industry.
