As part of efforts to promote Motorsports and Road Safety awareness education, Work and Play Promotions, in conjunction with the BMW Club, hosted Africa’s first Auto Fest Safety Summit.
The event, held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at 44 Community Road, Allen Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos, brought together experts in the Motorsports Community, road safety, transportation, and Emergency response to share their insights and experiences on how to reduce road traffic crashes and promote a culture of road safety in Lagos State.
Speaking during the Safety Summit, Founder/President , Work and Play Promotions, Adeoye Ojuoko, emphasized the importance of safety in all activities. “The Auto Fest Safety Summit is our way of promoting Road Safety awareness and education among our stakeholders, and we believe that it will have a positive impact on the community.” He said.
The Safety Summit served as a precursor to the highly anticipated Auto Fest event on Sunday, December 15, in Lagos, and other motor sport engagements hosted by Work and Play, which is the Xkart Racing series coming up on December 21, 2024 in Sagamu, Ogun state.
Ojuoko expressed gratitude to BMW Club for their invaluable partnership and the Lagos State Government for their unwavering support and encouragement in fostering a conducive business environment. He also acknowledged the selfless contribution of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the Red Cross Society of Nigeria, Lagos Branch.
The Safety Summit featured presentations, CPR FIRST Aid Training by the Red Cross Society, panel discussions, and demonstrations on various aspects of Motorsports Safety, Road safety, including defensive driving, vehicle maintenance, Emergency Response, and traffic management. The Summit came to a close with a mandate to Continuously educate and enlighten the Motorsports Community.
