SCAN Congratulates New MWUN Secretary

The Shipping Correspondents Association of Nigeria (SCAN) has congratulated the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) on the emergence of Comrade Oniha Erazua, as its Secretary-General.
The maritime journalists, in a statement signed by it’s President, Moses Ebosele and Secretary, Shulamite Olowofoyeku said this important leadership position marks a significant step forward for the union, expressing confidence that Erazua will bring invaluable insights and dedication to this role.
With a robust background in maritime advocacy, according to the statement, Erazua has been a fierce advocate for the rights and welfare of maritime workers throughout his career, adding that his commitment to fostering better working conditions and promoting safety standards will undoubtedly contribute to the development of Nigeria’s maritime sector.
The statement explained that SCAN recognizes the vital role that MWUN plays in representing maritime workers and advocating for their rights.
“We anticipate a continued exciting era of increased dialogue and collaboration between maritime workers and industry stakeholders,” the statement stated.
Commending MWUN for the choice of Erazua, the SCAN President and Secretary said: “We are excited about the vision and energy he brings to this role. Ebosele and Olowofoyeku urged the MWUN team to continue to navigate the complexities of the maritime industry by ensuring that the voices of workers are not only heard but respected.
