The Nigeria Police Force has declared wanted Ihuoma Julia Nneji, daughter of the founder of ABC Transport Plc, Frank Nneji over alleged cyber crime.
City Business News reports that Miss Nneji was declared wanted Tuesday night by the office of the Nigeria Police Force National Cyber Center, (NPF NCCN), Abuja as posted on the Force official Facebook and Twitter pages.
According to the post, the Police listed her offences to include “criminal defamation, injurious falsehood and cyber stalking.”
But, lawyers to Miss Nneji on Thursday described the development as a breach to the fundamental rights of their client.
City Business News reports that in a petition to the Inspector General of Police on Thursday, Pillar-Rest Attorneys, lawyers to Miss Nneji said their client was declared wanted without inviting her or availing her any opportunity to be heard or respond to allegations against her.
The lawyers said: “Our client is a decent, properly raised law-abiding citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria”.
