Foremost importers and employees of Jaguar Land Rover sub-Sahara Africa were recently honoured at a colourful awards banquet in Sandton, Johannesburg, South Africa.
Jaguar Land Rover’s importer partners from its sub-Saharan markets were present at the prestigious Importer of the Year awards, which highlight the stellar efforts in the British brand’s retail network on the continent.
According to a statement issued by General Manager (Marketing and Corporate Communications), Abiona Babarinde, the winners are those retailers that ranked the highest in a number of scoring categories for business performance, including vehicle sales volumes, sales of parts and accessories and maintaining Jaguar Land Rover’s required customer service standards.
He explained that winning the “Customer First” award for Jaguar Land Rover was Praveen Kumar Kasturi, who is the GM, Aftersales for the Jaguar Land Rover brand of Coscharis Motors Nigeria, “for the exceptional work achieved in growing the Jaguar Land Rover customer experience through excellent customer service and service delivery”.
Another Coscharis staff, Timothy Agana, a Technician was also recognised as the Land Rover sub-Sahara Africa “Technician of the Year 2016/2017”, “this double-win being awarded for outstanding efforts in customer service as well as technical service (repairs)”.
Commenting on the awards, the President / CEO of Coscharis Group, Dr. Cosmas Maduka, said: “These awards are testaments that the company is still committed to its vision of a timeless institution despite the challenging economy especially as the country works towards getting out of recession”, adding that “Coscharis will always thread where others fear.”

And this year we will introduce more products that will delight customers all over the continent”.
The awards also recognise other importers who excelled in challenging markets by building awareness of the brand, helping regain premium market share and demonstrating true entrepreneurial spirit.
