Barring any last minute adjustment, Peugeot will in the first quarter of 2018 bounced back to the pick-up segment in Nigeria.

The development is expected to compound ongoing competition and struggle for space between Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger, among others.

Already, PAN Nigeria is reaching out to critical stakeholders and what some observers describe as ‘big customers’ in the segment.

Available in 4×2 and 4×4 variants, 2.5-litre diesel engine coupled with a five-speed gear-box, the new pick-up is expected to take advantage of existing after-sales structure across Nigeria.

PAN Nigeria is returning to the segment about 12 years after its exit inline with ongoing expansion agenda.

Managing Director of PAN Nigeria, Ibrahim Boyi was  quoted recently as saying: “The new vehicle is extremely important to us at PAN Nigeria as we strive towards our market recovery. You know that there has been high demand for utility vehicles in the market because of our terrain and the needs of construction projects, as well as those of production and distribution companies.

“We have been absent in the segment for years, but we now have a good product that will aid our market recovery and efforts to recoup our market share”.

Peugeot recently unveiled its new effort in the pick-up segment inTunisia.
