The newly appointed Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Hadiza Bala-Usman is to formerly resume today, July 18th, 2016.
City BusinessNews gathered yesterday that the immediate past Managing Director, Habib Abdullahi is scheduled to hand over baton of the nation’s Ports Authority leadership to Bala-Usman at a brief ceremony.
Expected at the ceremony are senior management staff and the newly appointed Executive Directors.
The new Managing Director is also expected to inspect port facilities within and outside Lagos State at a later date.
Bala-Usman takes over from Habib Abdullahi who was reappointed to the position in August 2015 after he was earlier removed from office in April of the same year by former Presient Goodluck Jonathan.
The three newly appointed Executive Directors are Mohammed Bello-Koko (Finance); Prof. Idris Abubakar (Engineering) and Dr Sekonte Davies (Marine Operations).
The new Managing Director was born on January 2, 1976 in Zaria, Kaduna State and has a B.Sc. Business Administration from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria and a Post Graduate in Development Studies from University of Leeds, United Kingdom in 2009.
She worked at Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) from July 2000 to August 2004 as Enterprise Officer and was there after hired by the United Nation Development Programme (UNDP) for the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) from October 2004 to January 2008 as Special Assistant to the Minister on Project Implementation.
