The immediate past Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Mr Wale Adeniyi has commended Journalists and all stakeholders in the maritime sector for their support during his reign as the spokesperson of Customs.

Adeniyi and 245 others were on Tuesday redeployed by the Comptroller General of Customs (CGC), Col Hameed Ali (rtd).

Commending Journalists and other stakeholders, Adeniyi said: “It’s customary at this period of the year to exchange wishes for the newyear.  For me, it’s a new dawn. It’s heralding new beginings. It provides ample opportunity for me to activate a Thanksgiving Mode for His benevolence and protection, not just in 2016 hut over the years of my sojourn in Abuja.

“Indeed, as we enter the new year, I have been deployed to take on new challenges as I step aside from the Customs PRO Seat.

“During my sojourn,  I have had the Grace and special privilege to work with 6 Heads of Customs, several generations of Customs Management Teams,  Media Practioners  at home and abroad,  Stakeholders,  Colleagues and all. I have also developed rich network accross the divides and I will forever treasure the relationships cultivated on the beat.

“It has indeed been a great learning experience that is humbling and life changing. I have gained deep insights into issues while appreciating their divergence.

“I want to express my gratitude to all my Ogas who believed in my ability to make a difference. I thank all stakeholders who I have worked with over the years.

“My family, my wife Kikelomo, parents, and very close family friends too nemerous to mention remained strong pillars of support over the years. I owe them a world of gratitude.

“Most importantly, as human, I have my shortcomings. There may have been expectations that were not met. Perhaps promises unfulfilled.   I may even have stepped on toes.  I am apologising most sincerely to all I have offended in the course of duty. We meet to part.  We may also part to meet. God bless you all”.
