The Kirikiri Lighter Terminal (KLT) Command of the Nigeria Customs Service on Friday, December 5th, 2025, held a formal handing over and taking over ceremony to mark the assumption of office by the newly posted Acting Customs Area Controller, Deputy Comptroller BL Adigun. He succeeds Assistant Comptroller General E. J. Edelduok, who has been appointed into the management team of the Service.
The ceremony, held at the Command’s conference hall, brought together senior officers, representatives of partner agencies, and key stakeholders, all gathered to witness a seamless and orderly transition of leadership in keeping with the Service’s administrative traditions.
In her handover remarks, ACG Edelduok expressed deep appreciation to the Comptroller-General of Customs and the management team for the opportunity to serve at KLT. She described her tenure as both fulfilling and impactful, highlighting that the Command’s achievements were the product of teamwork, professionalism, and strong stakeholder collaboration. She encouraged officers and partners to extend the same level of cooperation and loyalty to her successor.
Taking over the leadership mantle, Acting Area Controller DC BL Adigun thanked the Comptroller-General for the trust placed in him. He praised ACG Edelduok for her exemplary and result-oriented leadership and pledged to consolidate and advance the Command’s achievements.
Adigun noted that his administration would focus on enhanced revenue generation, improved trade facilitation, robust anti-smuggling operations, and deepened operational integrity. He urged officers to remain disciplined, dedicated, and aligned with the Service’s mandate while calling on stakeholders to continue supporting the Command.
Stakeholders present described the leadership transition as a testament to the institutional stability and continuity within the Nigeria Customs Service. They expressed confidence that the new Acting Area Controller would provide strong, effective leadership to elevate the Command’s overall performance.
Highlights of the ceremony included the signing of handover documents, the symbolic presentation of the Service flag, and group photographs, all signifying the formal transfer of authority.
With DC Adigun’s assumption of office, the Kirikiri Lighter Terminal Command anticipates sustained progress, strengthened partnerships, and improved service delivery in the months ahead.
