The Autonomous Port of Abidjan in Africa hosted its first nickel ore carrier on February 14.

The 50,000 dwt Luzern docked at the port’s Wharf 15.

The port said that the nickel ore came from a mine located in Foungbesso in the region of Bafing.

Foungbesso nickel mine is the first in Ivory Coast, as well as in Africa. Therefore, Luzern is the first nickel ship to arrive in the country, according to the Port of Abidjan.

Featuring a length of 189 meters and a width of 32.3 meters, Luzern flies the flag of Switzerland.
