Tyre manufacturer, Apollo on Thursday introduced second version of Apterra tyre range for SUV segment.
The new Apterra AT2 range, which is designed with Saw-tooth shoulder technology, comes with upgraded an all terrain performance, durability and puncture resistance.
The Apterra AT2 complements Apollo’s existing Apterra range of tyres and now covers almost the entire spectrum of SUVs.
The Apollo Apterra HT2 is available in eight sizes and targeted towards the SUVs like Pajero Sports, Fortuner, 8Xuv 300, Scorpio, Safari, Hexa, TUV 300 and Bolero.
In the passenger vehicles segment, the company has 30 per cent market share in OE segment and about 16 per cent market share in replacement segment.
Apollo’s passenger vehicle range now covers nearly 90% of the market, claims the company.
Commenting on the launch, Satish Sharma, Presient, Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa (APMEA), Apollo Tyres Ltd, said, “We are sharpening our focus on SUV segment in India, with specialised tyres for different terrains, as this vehicle segment is growing faster than passenger cars.”
He also said, “The excellent test results and the global efforts that have gone into developing the Apollo Apterra AT2, gives us the confidence that this tyre will set a new benchmark in the all-terrain space, and will further propel our leadership in the SUV segment.”
