Augustine University Receives NUC Team For Nursing Science Accreditation

Augustine University, Ilara-Epe, Lagos State, on Monday, 9th February, 2026, received a team from the National Universities Commission (NUC) for the accreditation of its Nursing Science Programme.
The NUC accreditation team was led by Professor Emmanuel Anyebe, who arrived on campus alongside other team members to assess the programme in line with national academic and professional standards.
The visit is part of the Commission’s statutory responsibility to evaluate academic programmes, focusing on areas such as curriculum content, staffing, facilities, teaching and learning resources, clinical training, and overall compliance with approved benchmarks for Nursing education in Nigerian universities.
Management of Augustine University, led by the Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Professor Anthony Alaba Akinwale, OP, warmly received the team and expressed appreciation to the NUC for its guidance and support in ensuring quality assurance in higher education. The University reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining high academic standards and producing competent, well-trained nursing professionals who can contribute meaningfully to the healthcare sector.
During the accreditation exercise, the team will be interacting with staff and students of the Department of Nursing Science, inspecting lecture halls, laboratories, clinical facilities, and other relevant infrastructure supporting the programme.
