Court Remands Two In Prison For Assaulting FRSC Marshals

A motorcycle rider named Yahaya Yakubu and a passerby Yusha’u Maishanu who assaulted an FRSC patrol team from Argungu Unit Command in Kebbi State on 18th July,2019, while resisting arrest have been remanded in Prison Custody till 24th July, 2019.

 They are facing five count charges of:

1. Criminal Force and Assaults

2. Obstruction Public Servant in discharge of duties

3. Intentional Insult

4. Resistance of Arrest and

5. Mischief.

 The case is before Magistrate Musa Alieru of Argungu Magisterial Division,Kebbi State.

In a statement  signed by the Zonal Public Education Officer, Aliyu Maaji, the  FRSC Zonal Commanding Officer for Zone 10 Sokoto  Assistant Corps Marshal Kayode Olagunju warned vehicle operators and other members of the public in Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states that the command will not hesitate to prosecute anyone that assaults any Corps personnel in the course of performing their legal duties. 

  Dr Olagunju also assured the public that any marshal or officer of the Corps that goes out of bound to violate the rights of any member of the public shall be dealt in accordance with extant rules and regulations.
