Former Corps Marshall, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Dr Boboye Oyeyemi, OFR, mni, has been honoured for his outstanding contributions to road safety, Transportation and logistics in Nigeria.
The award was presented by the management of City Business News Online during the organisation’s 10th anniversary lecture in Lagos.
The event, which attracted leading stakeholders from the maritime, logistics, transportation, energy, banking and capital market sectors, marked a decade of impactful business journalism and industry reporting. It also served as a platform to recognise institutions and individuals whose contributions have significantly impacted national development and economic growth.
Presenting the award to Dr Oyeyemi on behalf of City Business News Online, Motoring Editor of Sun Newspaper, Moses Akaigwe, commended Dr Oyeyemi, who is also President of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) for his contributions to the sector over the years.
He explained that the award is in recognition of Dr. Oyeyemi’s exceptional leadership and invaluable contributions to the advancement of road safety, transportation, logistics, and national development in Nigeria.
Dr Oyeyemi, OFR, mni, NPOM, FCILT, is one of Nigeria’s most distinguished and decorated public administrators, transport strategists, road safety reformers, and institutional leaders.
Over a remarkable career spanning four decades, he has made enduring contributions to engineering, public policy, transport governance, national safety transformation,
and institutional development, earning widespread recognition both within Nigeria and internationally.
A holder of a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Public Administration with specialization in Transport Administration from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and an alumnus of the prestigious Harvard Kennedy School of Government, Dr.
Oyeyemi combines academic excellence with extensive operational experience, policy expertise, and visionary leadership.
His professional journey reflects an
exceptional blend of intellectual depth, administrative competence, and transformational impact.
He currently serves as the President and Chairman of Council of the Chartered
Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Nigeria — the nation’s foremost
professional body for logistics, transport, and supply chain management, with a legacy dating back to 1958.
In this role, he provides strategic leadership aimed at strengthening professional standards, advancing logistics and transport excellence,
deepening institutional partnerships, and promoting national development.
