FG Honours FRSC Boss With Outstanding Public Service Award

The Federal Government (FG) has conferred Outstanding Public Service Award on the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed.
The award was presented at a grand ceremony held on Sunday inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja—an event widely regarded as one of the nation’s highest platforms for recognising public sector excellence.
The ceremony, distinguished by its high-profile attendance and national significance, spotlighted the FRSC as a leading institution in public administration, innovation, and lifesaving service delivery.
Representing the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, delivered an uplifting commendation, extolling the Corps Marshal’s visionary leadership, sweeping reforms, and commitment to modernising Nigeria’s road safety management.
He applauded the Corps under his watch for becoming a benchmark in digital transformation, professional discipline, and proactive, life-saving national service.
The event drew an impressive gathering of national leaders, including the Executive Governors of Adamawa, Zamfara, Akwa Ibom, Delta, and Enugu States; the Minister of the FCT (represented); the Minister of Finance; the Comptroller-General of Customs; the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Correctional Service; the Comptroller-General of Immigration; as well as prominent CEOs and heads of federal agencies—many of whom were also honoured for outstanding service.
In his acceptance speech, Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed dedicated the award to every FRSC officer and marshal across the country, describing it as a renewed call to deepen the Corps’ lifesaving mission.
He reaffirmed the FRSC’s resolve to strengthen national road safety systems through innovation, professionalism, and strengthened alignment with the Federal Government’s drive for safer mobility and sustainable development.
