FG Unveils NADDC Automotive Training, CNG Conversion Centre In Kano

The Minister, Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment (FMITI), Dr. Doris Uzoka- Anite on Monday commissioned the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) newly established and equiped Automotive Training and CNG Conversion Centre in Kano State.
Speaking at the ceremony, the NADDC Director General, Joseph Osanipin emphasized the importance of investing in automotive skills to combat poverty and foster local development.
The NADDC boss said: “The Council is dedicated to enhancing local capacity and sustainability within the industry, having established 21 training facilities across the country, with 15 fully equipped.
“The Kano Centre will focus on skill development and will soon commence training in Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) conversion, aiming to empower the youth and support the community.”
While performing the official commissioning of the state of the art facility, the Minister reiterated Federal Government’s commitment to job creation through effective use of national resources, describing the CNG Conversion Centre as one of the initiatives of the FMITI and NADDC designed to key into the Presidential CNG initiative of the Federal Government and ensure successful implementation of the programme .
She applauded the NADDC helmsman and his entire team for making the vision a reality, while congratulating the great people of Kano State for been part of the first beneficiaries of the NADDC CNG Conversion Centres. Dr. Uzoka-Anite also encouraged all Nigerians to embrace the new technology for more education and employment.
Other dignitaries at the event were the Permanent Secretary, FMITI, Amb. Nura Abba Rimi, the representatives and members of the Nigeria Automotive Technicians Association (NATA), MotorMechs & Technicians Association of Nigeria (MOMTAN) among others.
The newly equiped auto training and CNG conversion center will empower technicians and mechatronics specialists, enabling them to convert existing petrol and diesel vehicles to gas-powered models.
This development not only meets the growing demand for gas- powered vehicles but also equips local technicians with essential skills, to ensure proper maintenance and repair of such Vehicles.
