The Final Religious Profession of Sr. Mary Appolonia Chinonso Owoh as Sister of the Congregation of Sisters of Jesus the Redeemer, took place today, 25th May, 2024, at Holy Cross Church, Gwarinpa, Abuja.
The Sisters of Jesus the Redeemer were established in 1863 by a French woman, Victorian era Le Dieu.
Reparation, Reconciliation of men and women within themselves, with God and among themselves, adoring Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, reconstructing unity in love, serving the brethren especially those disorganized by sin, marginalization and poverty, are those areas they commit their life to. With love, they welcome, accept and care for poor, exploited and abandoned children.
In Nigeria, they are carrying out their mission in Ketti, Gbao and Takalafia villages in the FCT. They established the Victorine Home for Children, Gwarinpa, Abuja, where they take care of orphans and other children at risk and in different needs. They also work in Gboko Diocese.
