Rolls-Royce has unveiled its luxurious Phantom VIII, designed specifically to meet more customer’s expectations.
Regarded as “The ultimate luxury machine”, one of the longest-running automobile nameplates in the world and the flagship of the British luxury brand, Rolls-Royce Phantom joined the motoring space in 1925.
The new Phantom is powered by a 563-horsepower, 6.75-liter turborcharge V12 engine coupled with eight-speed transmission “connected to a satellite navigation system so that it can select the proper gear depending, in part, on whether the car is approaching an uphill or downhill grade”.
The technology, already used in other Rolls-Royce cars, helps ensure the smoothest possible gear shifts.
Unveiling the Phantom VIII, Rolls-Royce Chief Executive, Torsten Müller-Ötvös described the eighth-generation effort an icon, an artwork, “a dominant symbol of wealth and human achievement”, a car fit for “a connoisseur of luxury in the extreme.”
Explaining further, he said Rolls-Royce’s customer base has shifted “dramatically” younger recently, adding that the brand is cognizant of the need to appeal to its new clientele.
