The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has reaffirmed its commitment to international cooperation and evidence-based approaches for safer roads, as a delegation led by the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, participates in the 2025 Global Road Safety Leadership Course (GRSLC) Alumni Network Summit: Africa, in Mombasa, Kenya.
The summit, hosted by the Global Road Safety Partnership (GRSP) in collaboration with the Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health, brings together distinguished alumni, policymakers, and safety experts from across Africa and beyond. The goal is to deepen leadership capacity, enhance collaboration, and promote innovative strategies toward achieving safer road networks globally.
Accompanying the Corps Marshal is Corps Commander Wasiu Adenekan, the FRSC’s Information Technology Officer and Technical Adviser to the Corps Marshal. The Nigerian delegation is engaging with international counterparts to share insights and explore sustainable, data-driven interventions that can reduce road traffic crashes and fatalities.
The summit provides a platform for advancing the exchange of ideas, best practices, and new technologies aimed at strengthening road safety management systems across the continent.
FRSC’s participation underscores Nigeria’s active role in the global road safety community and its alignment with the United Nations Decade of Action for Road Safety (2021–2030), which seeks to cut road traffic deaths and injuries by 50%.
Through such engagements, FRSC continues to expand its global partnerships, enhance institutional capacity, and drive innovation toward achieving its vision of a crash-free Nigeria and a safer Africa.
