The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has commenced a two-day capacity-building workshop for its Expanded Management Staff, with a renewed commitment to strengthening strategic leadership and enhancing road safety across Nigeria.
City Business News reports that the workshop, which began on Tuesday at the Corps National Headquarters in Abuja, is themed “Strategy for Command Responsibility and Enhancing Road Safety in Nigeria.”
Declaring the workshop open, the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, challenged the leadership of the Corps to embrace strategic thinking, innovation, accountability and proactive leadership in addressing the country’s evolving road safety challenges.
He described command responsibility as a sacred trust that must be demonstrated through measurable performance, operational excellence and an unwavering commitment to protecting lives on Nigerian roads.
The Corps Marshal urged members of the FRSC High Command to use the workshop as an opportunity for reflection, renewal and transformation, stressing that every command decision, policy initiative and enforcement action should ultimately result in safer roads and fewer fatalities.
According to him, the Corps remains committed to building a more effective and responsive road safety institution capable of meeting emerging transportation challenges through strong leadership and improved operational efficiency.
The workshop features presentations by seasoned experts on strategic leadership, stakeholder engagement, technology, human rights and command effectiveness.
The training is designed to equip senior officers with the knowledge and leadership skills required to build a stronger, smarter and more professional FRSC that can effectively respond to the nation’s road safety needs.
The Corps said the initiative underscores its commitment to visionary leadership, integrity in service and sustained efforts to reduce road crashes and save lives across Nigeria.
