
The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, on Monday formally invested and decorated Epiphany Chigbogu Azinge, SAN, OON, the Asagba of Asaba, as an Honorary Special Marshal of the Corps.
The ceremony, held in Asaba formed part of the Corps’ sustained engagement with traditional institutions aimed at deepening road safety advocacy and strengthening community partnerships across the country.
Speaking during the investiture, the Corps Marshal described the honour as one reserved for distinguished leaders of proven integrity, credibility and societal influence.
He emphasized that the FRSC remains committed to leveraging the moral authority of revered traditional rulers to amplify safety consciousness, promote responsible road use, and encourage compliance with traffic regulations.
Mohammed expressed confidence that the respected voice and leadership of the Asagba would significantly advance public adherence to road safety rules and foster greater respect for constituted authority within communities.
In his response, the Asagba of Asaba appreciated the recognition bestowed on him by the Corps and pledged unwavering support for its mandate. He reaffirmed his commitment to championing safer roads, promoting lawful conduct among road users, and strengthening collaborative efforts toward nation-building.
