The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has commenced the strategic redeployment of 13 senior officers across various commands as part of efforts to strengthen operational effectiveness, enhance institutional capacity and improve service delivery to Nigerians.
The exercise, approved by the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, mni, affects officers across different cadres and commands, including senior management and operational positions.
According to the Corps, the redeployment is aimed at injecting fresh perspectives, leveraging professional competencies and ensuring that officers are deployed to areas where their experience and capabilities can deliver the greatest institutional value.
Among the senior officers affected are five Assistant Corps Marshals (ACMs).
ACM GO Omiko, PhD, formerly ACM Special Duties and External Relations (SDER), has been redeployed as ACM in charge of the Operations Department.
ACM EF Akinlade, MInstTA, formerly ACM Research, is now ACM Command Administration and Strategy in Operations at the FRSC National Headquarters, Abuja.
ACM JO Asaolu, PSC, MInstTA, formerly ACM Policy Advisory Unit, will take over as ACM Research, while ACM MB Ibrahim, formerly ACM Special Marshals, is now ACM SDER at the Road Safety Headquarters.
Also affected is ACM FA Ogidan, formerly ACM (CAS), RSHQ Operations, who has been redeployed as Zonal Commanding Officer, RS10HQ, Sokoto.
The Corps Marshal described the movement as a normal feature of a dynamic organisation committed to continuous improvement, stressing that strategic deployment was essential to building a responsive, agile and performance-driven road safety institution.
He said the FRSC must continually optimise its human resources in line with emerging road safety realities and the changing demands of traffic management and enforcement across the country.
The redeployment, according to the Corps, also underscores its commitment to professionalism, accountability, operational discipline and effective leadership, while ensuring that commands remain adequately positioned to respond to evolving challenges in road transportation and safety administration.
The affected officers have been directed to report to their new commands and assume duty with immediate effect, while ensuring a seamless and properly documented handing and taking-over process.
Mohammed charged the redeployed officers to view their new assignments not merely as changes in location or responsibility, but as renewed opportunities to contribute meaningfully to the Corps’ mandate of reducing road traffic crashes and making Nigerian roads safer for all users.
He urged them to bring to their new commands the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, innovation and commitment, noting that every posting represents a call to greater responsibility and an opportunity to make a measurable difference.
The FRSC leadership, he said, remains focused on building a stronger, more responsive and performance-oriented institution capable of delivering on its statutory mandate and advancing the national road safety agenda.
