The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has celebrated the appointment of Assistant Corps Marshal Mohammed Hafiz Tarauni as Public Representative on the Management Board of the Nigerian National Bureau of the ECOWAS Brown Card Insurance Scheme.
Tarauni’s appointment followed his nomination by the National Insurance Commission, a development the Corps Marshal described as a testament to the officer’s professional competence, integrity, and distinguished record of public service.
In a congratulatory message, Mohammed noted that the prestigious appointment reflects the growing national recognition of the quality of leadership nurtured within the FRSC, an institution he said remains committed to producing disciplined and patriotic officers who contribute meaningfully to national development and strategic governance.
The Corps Marshal, on behalf of the management and staff of the Corps, congratulated Tarauni on what he described as a well-deserved appointment and urged him to remain a worthy ambassador of the organisation.
According to him, Tarauni’s elevation to the important regional insurance governance platform further underscores the Corps’ reputation as a breeding ground for men and women of honour, professionalism, and dedication to service.
The Corps Marshal also expressed confidence that the FRSC officer would bring his wealth of experience to bear in strengthening institutional governance and promoting collaboration within the regional insurance framework.
The ECOWAS Brown Card Insurance Scheme plays a key role in facilitating cross-border motor insurance coverage among member states of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), helping to ensure compensation for victims of road traffic crashes involving foreign motorists within the West African sub-region.
With Tarauni now serving on the management board, the FRSC leadership believes his expertise will contribute to advancing policies that support regional integration, improve insurance cooperation, and enhance road transport safety across the sub-region.
