Geely Delivers 78,478 Units In February, Penetrates African Market

For the Month of February 2022,  Geely Auto recorded total sales volume of 78,478 units, an increase of approximately Two per cent from the same period last year, but down approximately 46% from January 2022, primarily due to the supply shortage of chips for body electronic stability program (ESP) and spring festival holiday effect. 

 The company had for the year 2021 attained total sales volume of  1,328,029 units, an increase of approximately 1% from the same period last year, achieving 87% of the Group’s full year sales volume target of 1,530,000 units in 2021. 

In the new energy vehicle segment,the Group,  sold 14,501 units in February with a market penetration of 18.5%, setting a new record. 

According to the Company, Group’s exports volume was up approximately 34.5% Year On Year (YoY) to 9,851 units, in the month of February 2022, among which, the sales volume in the Middle-East market has increased by 118% as compared with the corresponding period last year.  

 In February, Geely’s largest flagship store in Africa was opened in Cairo, Egypt.

 Meanwhile, Motors division of Mikano International, representative of Geely in Nigeria recently welcomed the All-New Geely Azkarra Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) to Nigeria.

 Unveiling the Azkarra at a colourful ceremony in Lagos, General Manager, Mikano Motors division, Ralph Haidar said: “This is the most luxurious yet affordable SUV in the  C segment. This is the game changer.” 

  Already, the company, according to Haidar, sold within twenty working days 100 units of the All-New Azkarra available in Nigeria in two trims — the Azkarra Platinum Pro and the Azkarra Titanium.
