Hyundai Motor on Wednesday launched the all-new i20 N as part of measures to expand the hatchback’s portfolio in Europe.

The Hyundai i20 N will join the i30 N and i30 Fastback N in Europe, to give thrills of a racetrack car to its performance-oriented customer base.

The i20 N is inspired by its WRC rally car twin.
The Hyundai i20 N borrows most of the design elements from the WRC version but looks much sportier and practical too. The front bumper with large intake for engine, wide radiator grille with N logo resembling a chequered flag, lip spoiler with red accents, side skirt and rear skirt with red accents, new side sills, all add to the sportiness and performance-oriented DNA of the car.

The Hyundai i20 N is powered by a Gamma II 1.6-litre turbocharged GDI engine that delivers 204 PS of maximum power and offers 275 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed MT. The hatchback offers one of the best power-to-weight ratio at 1190 kg, same as its WRC twin. The i20 N can clock 0-100 kmph in just 6.7 seconds offering a maximum speed of 230 kmph.
The Hyundai i20 N comes with classic N brand features that enhance the driving experience. The hatchback comes with 5 driving modes- Normal, Eco, Sport, N and N Custom. Borrowing the Rev Matching feature from i30 N, the i20 N synchronizes the engine to output shaft and has dedicated button on the steering wheel. The Launch Control feature further enhances the track performance.
On the inside, the Hyundai i20 N comes with N-specific designing which include exclusive steering wheel, gear knob and metal pedals. The hatchback features a black and blue dual tone interior and gets a digital cluster and with real-time performance stats.
The Hyundai i20 N is expected to launch in the European markets by spring of 2021.
