Immigration Boss, NIMC DG Meet To Deepen Collaboration On Identity, Security Systems

The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Kemi Nana Nandap, on Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to the Director-General/CEO of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Engr. (Dr.) Abisoye Coker-Odusote, in a move that underscores the growing synergy between both institutions under the Federal Ministry of Interior.
The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation in identity verification, enhancing service delivery, and deepening the integration of systems critical to Nigeria’s border management and national security architecture.
During the engagement, CG Nandap and DG Coker-Odusote reaffirmed their shared commitment to building a robust, secure, and innovative identity ecosystem capable of supporting efficient service delivery across government agencies. They also restated the importance of seamless collaboration between the NIS and NIMC to improve data accuracy, streamline verification processes, and support the Federal Government’s broader security objectives.
Both leaders expressed optimism that the renewed partnership will accelerate ongoing reforms in identity management, safeguard Nigeria’s borders, and deliver improved services to citizens and residents.
The visit also mark another step toward achieving an integrated, technology-driven identity and security framework for the country.
