The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo. has reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to expanding economic opportunities for officers and personnel under the ministry, emphasizing that access to capital remains a powerful tool for personal and professional advancement across the world.
Speaking after receiving the Managing Director and CEO of NIRSAL Microfinance Bank, Dr. Abubakar Abdullahi Kure, who led a delegation on a courtesy visit to his office on Thursday, the Minister noted that gallant and diligent officers must not be excluded from financial empowerment initiatives that can improve their livelihoods.
During the meeting, both parties explored how strategic financial inclusion can support officers of the Ministry of Interior in building sustainable livelihoods, reducing economic vulnerability, and reinforcing institutional integrity.
The Minister highlighted that a partnership with NIRSAL Microfinance Bank presents a valuable opportunity to provide targeted financial products, accessible credit, and capacity-building tools tailored to the unique needs of security and paramilitary personnel.
He added that such collaboration would help actualize President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda by creating a system where officers are not only protected in the line of duty but are also economically empowered to fulfill their personal and professional aspirations.
Dr. Kure, in his remarks, expressed readiness to work with the ministry to design impactful financial solutions that can enhance welfare and long-term stability for officers.
Both institutions agreed to advance discussions toward a structured partnership that will significantly uplift the economic well-being of personnel across all agencies under the Ministry of Interior.
