The Board of Trustees, JBS Elderly Health & Wellbeing Foundation Africa (JBS Foundation) has rolled out its plan of activities for 2021/2022 at its inaugural meeting.

At the virtual meeting, chaired by the Chief Executive/Chairperson of the Foundation, Dr. OluToyin Sodiq-Ajala, members stated their commitment to working together to meet the needs of the underprivileged elderly in Africa including providing basic necessities and basic healthcare through it’s “Adopt a Gran” programme launching in Nigeria in January 2021.

The statement added: “JBS Foundation is the not-for-profit arm of JBS MedicareServices -a specialist Geriatric healthcare provider with offices in Africa and Europe. With an array of fundraising events and volunteer projects, JBS Foundation seeksprivate and public partnerships that will cater to the well-being and health needs of underserved and less privileged elderly in Africa.

“The lockdown measures which was rightly put in place globallyto contain the virus spread, had adverse effect on human lives ranging from physical to psychological in the form of increased stress, apprehension, anxiety and fear particularly among the elderly. 

“The elderly have never been more vulnerable than they are at this challenging period. JBS Foundation believes much more can be done to support and continually put a smile on the faces of all grand and great grand-parents“.
