Kano Confiscates 10 Trucks Of Expired Cigarettes

Kano State Consumer Protection Council (KSCPC) has confiscated 10 trucks of expired cigarettes worth millions of naira in the state. 

The acting Managing Director of KSCPC, Dr Baffa Dan-Agundi, made the disclosure while briefing Journalists in Kano on Wednesday. 

He said that the council confiscated the 10 trucks containing different brands of expired cigarettes at Sharada Industrial Area, Kano, upon receiving information. 

According to him, investigation is ongoing to confiscate more fake, expired and unwholesome products in Bichi Local Government Area of the state. 

Dan-Agundi commended Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje for supporting the council with N50 million to increase its manpower.

He also appreciated the governor for approving the employment of 100 youths to further help the council in its operations. 

The acting managing director, however, called on the general public to assist the council with credible information. 

According to him, the door of the council is always open, even as it is ready to act on any of such information. 

He said that KSCPC would continue to do its best in ridding the state of all forms of fake, expired and unwholesome products which were dangerous to the health of residents.
