For the month of July, 2019, Kia Motors Corporation’s global sales stood at 225,902 units, a decline of 2.7% when compared to the same month last year.
Sales in Kia’s home market, South Korea increased slightly to 47,080 units, reports the company, while it sold 178,822 units in the rest of the world market marking a 3.4% YoY decline.
Bestselling model for the brand in July 2019 was the Kia Sportage SUV with 36,083 units, while Kia’s first-ever compact SUV Seltos has sold 3,335 units in six days since it started selling in late July 2019, claims the automaker.
Kia Rio and K3 sold 21,398 units and 20,910 units respectively in July 2019.
Meanwhile, despite the global sales slowdown and several headwinds, the South Korean auto manufacturer forecasts a stronger momentum in the second half of 2019.
