Kia Motors India reported 50.1% growth in total sales at 21,022 units in November 2020.
The company sold 11,417 units of Sonet sub-four metre SUV last month. Seltos also maintained its positive run in the market with 9,205 units, the company said in a release.
The company, which made its entry into the Indian market last year, had sold 14,005 units of Seltos in the same month year ago.
Kookhyun Shim, managing director and chief executive officer, Kia Motors India, said, “Since the COVID-19 outbreak, we were quite hopeful about the festive month, and the results were overwhelming. Not only urban, but customers from Ter II, III, and IV markets also are acknowledging the need for personal mobility for safety.”
While there is still a lot of uncertainty in the market due to the pandemic, the overall consumer sentiment has significantly improved, and the company is all prepared to offer a safe and hassle-free ownership experience to our customers, he said.
“We are expecting the market sentiment to improve in the coming months and we are confident that we will be able to continue this positive momentum in future as well,” Shim said.
Kia Motors India launched the Carnival premium MPV earlier this year at the 2020 Auto Expo in Delhi, followed by the launch of the Sonet sub-four metre SUV in September 2020.
