Kwara Customs Area Command Gets New Comptroller

Newly posted Area Comptroller of Customs, Kwara Area Command, Mr Aliyu Bello, on Thursday assumed duty in Ilorin, Kwara State. 

Bello, who was deployed from Zone A Headquarters, took over the mantle of leadership from Comptroller Hussaini  Ahmed. 

Addressing men and officers of the command on his assumption of duty, Bello said his first priority was to consolidate on the achievements of his predecessor. 

According to him, there is the need to strategise on ways to increase revenue generation and reduce to the barest minimum activities of smugglers within the zone. 

Bello charged officers to imbibe the culture of transparency and professionalism in the discharge of their responsibilities, warning that he will not tolerate any act of misconduct from officers.

The new Customs boss however congratulated and commended the out-going comptroller for taking the command to an enviable height in revenue generation and fight against smuggling activities. 

Earlier, Ahmed thanked the Comptroller General of Customs and the management team for the opportunity accorded him to serve as area controller. 

He urged officers of the command to extend the same courtesies to his successor. nan.
