Proprietor of the Lady Mechanic Initiative, Mrs. Sandra Aguebor has been nominated by the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO) for the prestigious Inspirational Woman of The Year Award 2017.
The association explained that the choice of Mrs. Aguebor for the Award was informed by the work she has done in the automobile industry and how she has encouraged entrepreneurship in young girls and women.
“More importantly, we appreciate how she has encouraged and groomed women through her Lady Mechanic Initiative, to take on mechanical engineering which is a male-dominated profession. The initiative has created new entrepreneurs and generated new employment opportunities for so many women,” the association said.
COWLSO was established in 1974 with the core objective of supporting the Lagos State Government in its efforts to improve the social welfare of the people.
The Award’s presentation will take place at the association’s 17th National Conference.
