Earlier, the President, on behalf of the council members, congratulated the Special Adviser on his appointment and appreciated the state government for giving room to members of their society to practice in the Centre of Excellence.

He also applauded the high number of Geologists employed by the state government and their participation in professional training, workshops, and conferences organised by the society, noting, however, that the government needs more geologists in the system.

He also submitted that society needs to do a lot of research to attract more investors to the country, saying Nigeria is blessed with Mineral Resources that should be fully explored and commercialised.
