Lawyers under the aegis of Network of Edo Lawyers have criticised the appointment of new Accountant General by the outgoing administration of Godwin Obaseki.
In a statemen on Thursday signed by Julius Ilenkhe, the group urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC) to freeze the account of the State Government.
The lawyers faulted the announcement of a new Accountant General for the State by Governor Godwin Obaseki, following the arrest of Julius Anelu and two other officials of the state .
The group said: “These monies belong to Edo state and not Obaseki. He tried to use a supplementary budget, which the Speaker of Edo state turned down.
