THE Buy Made in Nigeria Project Office Abuja has unveiled plans for the Buy Made in Nigeria Cars Expo and Exhibition.
According to the organisers, the event is scheduled for Abuja later this year, and the World Automobile and Automotive Expo in Tokyo in January 2025. These events are designed to spotlight Nigerian-made automotive products on a global platform.
Organized by the Buy Made in Nigeria Project Office Abuja, these expos aim to introduce Nigeria’s products and services to the global market.
The National Coordinator and Executive Director, Nwabueze Buchi George, emphasized the importance of these events in showcasing Nigeria’s automotive capabilities internationally.
“This is a pivotal moment for Nigeria’s automotive sector,” Buchi George stated, noting that promoting domestically produced goods will drive economic growth and bolster Nigeria’s international presence. “The Buy Made in Nigeria Project seeks to not only promote local businesses but also foster economic development in line with global standards.”
Innoson Motors, a leading figure in Nigeria’s automotive industry, will head the Nigerian delegation at both events.
Buchi George highlighted Innoson Motors’ role as a leader in showcasing Nigeria’s automotive excellence and commended the collaboration of other companies in this initiative.
The Buy Made in Nigeria Cars Expo and Exhibition is a partnership between the Buy Made in Nigeria Project Office Abuja and the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF).
The event will also be hosted in East African countries including Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, and Ethiopia.
A committee comprising partnering agencies has been established to ensure the success of these events.
While the date for the Abuja event is yet to be finalized, the Tokyo expo will be held from January 22-24, 2025.
Buchi George emphasized Tokyo’s significance as a global automobile business hub, stating that hosting the event will foster crucial partnerships.
