Mikano Motors CNG Vehicles To Debut At LagosAuto Show

Mikano Motors is set to debut its CNG-powered buses at the Lagos International Auto Show,
taking place at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, from June 4-7, 2024.
This trade fair brings together auto- dealers, and manufacturers, spare parts and accessories
dealers in the automotive industry, providing the ideal platform for Mikano Motors to showcase
its innovative vehicles.
A statement issued by Mikano Motors explained that “With a swift response rate to the recent directive from the Federal Government, Mikano Motors
will be showcasing CNG-powered buses that offer a cleaner, more cost-effective alternative to
traditional petrol-fueled vehicles.
“This is one of the many CNG- powered vehicles (including
heavy duty trucks) that the company has already started producing.
“Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) boasts of low flammability, affordability, and lower emissions.
“Notably, CNG-powered vehicles are 3-5 times more cost-efficient than their petrol-fueled
counterparts, providing a significant reduction in operating costs.
“Following extensive research and technology development at the Mikano Motors Assembly
Plant in Wawa, Ogun State, the company is now ready to unveil its CNG buses”
The statement explained that after a
comprehensive tour of their Mikano Motors facility, Michael Oluwagbemi, Programme Director of
the P-CNG Initiative, was quoted as saying” We have observed not only capacity, but also the effective utilization of
gas”.
In addition to the CNG bus debut, Mikano Motors will showcase its serial utility trucks from
Dongfeng, Captain W01 and Captain T, which can convey weights of 2.0 and 2.5 tonnes,
respectively.
” These versatile trucks can serve various purposes, including garbage, flat,
sprinkler, dump, refrigerated, and overhead working trucks. “Their lineup will also include SUV’s
and Pickup trucks from their Changan and Maxus brands.
Mikano Motors’ presence at the event promises to be exciting and memorable, with notable
brand ambassadors and some of Nigeria’s finest passenger vehicles on display
