NADDC Boss Harps On NAIDP Implementation

The Director General, National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), Mr.  Joseph Osanipin has declared that proper implementation of the Nigeria Automotive Industry Development Plan (NAIDP) is part of the Council’s top priority towards achieving the mandates of the NADDC. 

Osanipin made this declaration of commitment during a courtesy visit by the Commerce and Industry Correspondence Association of Nigeria (CICAN) at the Council’s headquarters on Monday 4th December 2023.

“The New NAIDP is a working document, the implementation is part of our top priority. And with the support of the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment and the Presidency, the Auto Policy would become an Act of Parliament, and by that attract the confidence of foreign investors to invest in the Nigeria Automotive Industry”

The Director General was optimistic that proper implementation of the NAIDP would not only move the auto industry to an enviable height but also has the capacity to contribute immensely to the nation’s economy.

He seized the opportunity to appeal to CICAN for more collaboration in the area of patronage of made-in-Nigeria vehicles, adding that the Nigeria local assembly plants are doing commendable operations that can match their counterparts at the global arena, therefore the need for more support from both the public and private sectors.

The CICAN team led by the Vice President Mr. Gabriel Kuma earlier in his remarks congratulated the Director General for a well-deserved appointment, expressing that the courtesy visit was basically to acquaint the team with the blueprint of the Director General, while assuring that they would continue to report on the projects of the Council, keeping track on the developments in the industry as well as work with accurate facts to promote the activities of the Council and the auto industry at large.
