The National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) has praised the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and MIDAS IT for donating advanced engineering software to fifteen Nigerian universities, describing the gesture as a visionary move that will transform technical education in the country.
The official handover of the MIDAS Engineering Software took place on Wednesday at the NSE Headquarters in Abuja, with the NADDC Director-General, Chief (Otunba) Oluwemimo Joseph Osanipin, representing the Council.
In his goodwill message, Chief Osanipin commended NSE President, Engr. Margaret Aina Oguntala, and the MIDAS IT team for their commitment to empowering the next generation of engineers. He noted that the software donation goes beyond providing tools—it is a critical investment in bridging the gap between academic learning and practical engineering innovation.
Highlighting the Council’s ongoing support for technological advancement, Osanipin recalled that NADDC has established three of its four Electric Vehicle Charging Stations within higher institutions—the University of Lagos, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto.
This, he said, reflects the Council’s dedication to building research capacity and fostering innovation among young Nigerian engineers.
The NADDC congratulated the NSE, MIDAS IT, and the beneficiary institutions, noting that the initiative is aligned with Nigeria’s broader goals for sustainable development and technological growth. “This milestone is a beacon of what can be achieved through strategic collaboration,” Osanipin stated.
