The Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, has applauded the Nigerian Air Force Officers’ Wives Association (NAFOWA) for its long-standing commitment to family welfare and its pivotal role in strengthening the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) community.
He gave the commendation while receiving the newly inaugurated NAFOWA National President, Mrs Ngozi Enderline Aneke, and members of her executive team during their maiden courtesy visit to Headquarters Nigerian Air Force on Tuesday.
Describing NAFOWA as a vital pillar in the military support structure, Air Marshal Aneke highlighted the association’s impactful contributions in education, healthcare, empowerment, and humanitarian outreach. He noted that these interventions have significantly boosted the morale and stability of NAF personnel, ultimately enhancing the Service’s operational effectiveness.
The CAS emphasized that a strong and stable home front is indispensable to operational readiness, as the wellbeing of families directly influences the focus and performance of personnel deployed in various theatres.
He assured the association of the unwavering support of NAF leadership through strengthened collaboration, resource provision, and infrastructure development to further advance NAFOWA’s programmes.
He particularly praised the association’s renewed commitment to widows, dependants of fallen heroes, and vulnerable families—initiatives he said align with the NAF’s people-centred leadership ethos.
In her remarks, the NAFOWA National President, Mrs Ngozi Enderline Aneke, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and unveiled her strategic vision to expand welfare and empowerment initiatives across Air Force communities nationwide.
She reaffirmed the association’s dedication to enhancing family support systems, improving educational outcomes, and championing sustainable projects that benefit both personnel and their dependants.
Mrs Aneke reiterated that resilient military families are the backbone of mission success and assured that NAFOWA will continue to complement the NAF in building a motivated, stable, and mission-ready force. The courtesy visit ended with a renewed commitment from both sides to deepen collaboration and further strengthen the welfare of the Air Force family.
