The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) is participating in the ongoing two-day NLNG Community Vendors Training Programme, which commenced on March 23, 2026, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, as part of efforts to strengthen the capacity of community vendors and deepen local participation in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
The first day of the programme featured an overview of the Community Development initiative, alongside opening remarks that underscored the importance of compliance with the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act, the promotion of Nigerian content, and the need for sustainable community engagement.
Participants were taken through a series of technical sessions covering critical areas such as Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), Ethics and Compliance, as well as key provisions of the NOGICD Act. These included requirements for the Nigerian Content Equipment Certificate (NCEC), registration on the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Joint Qualification System (NOGIC JQS), and access to the Nigerian Content Fund (NCF).
The training also focused on financial management for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), with experts providing insights into financial planning and strategies for accessing funding through financial institutions, including the NLNG Cooperative Fund Microfinance Scheme.
In addition, participants were sensitised on tax compliance obligations under the new Tax Reform Act, equipping them with the knowledge required to operate within evolving regulatory frameworks.
Overall, the programme has enhanced participants’ understanding of regulatory requirements, safety standards, ethical practices, and financial management, thereby positioning them to take advantage of emerging opportunities within the oil and gas sector.
