The Director General, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mrs. Zubaida Umar, has decorated the Head of the NEMA Mission Control Centre (NMCC), Ademola Oriyomi, with his new rank of Navy Captain, charging him to justify the confidence reposed in him through higher dedication, discipline, and exceptional performance.
The Director General, Mrs Zubaida Umar, who performed the ceremony on Tuesday, 2nd December 2025, at NEMA Headquarters, Abuja, was assisted by the wife of the newly promoted officer of the Nigerian Navy.
In her remarks, Mrs. Zubaida Umar congratulated Navy Captain Oriyomi on his well-deserved elevation, describing it as a testament to his professionalism, hard work, and commitment to national service.
She reminded him that “to whom much is given, much is expected,” urging him to redouble his efforts in delivering on the critical responsibilities of the NMCC, especially in a period marked by heightened national security and emergency management demands.
In his response, Navy Captain Ademola Oriyomi expressed profound gratitude to God Almighty, the Chief of Naval Staff, the Director General of NEMA, his family, colleagues, and friends for their support.
He pledged to justify the trust placed in him through renewed dedication, improved service delivery, and outstanding performance.
He added that the accomplishment belonged not only to him but equally to his family and all who contributed to his journey.
The event was attended by directors of NEMA, senior military officers, staff of the Agency, who were present to celebrate the officer’s career milestone.
