Nigeria’s senior female cricket team will depart the country for Botswana on Monday ahead of the Women’s T20 World Cup qualifiers.

The 22-member contingent comprises 14 players and eight officials.

Taiwo Oriss, Secretary of the Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF), said the team was hopeful of a good outing.

“This is the second time Nigeria will be participating in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Women’s World Cup qualifiers and we expect that the team wins a world cup ticket.

“The Under 19 male team, in 2019, secured the country’s first-ever world cup ticket, and we are optimistic that the female team will replicate the same feat in Bostwana.
