NIMC Promotes 523 Staff

The Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Engr. (Dr) Abisoye Coker-Odusote, has approved the promotion of 523 staff members of the Commission as part of the 2025 promotion exercise, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s, Renewed Hope Agenda.

Kayode Adegoke, head, Corporate Communications explained that the promotion exercise, which forms a statutory component of the public service performance reward system, followed due process as stipulated in the Public Service Rules (PSR). Only staff who met all pre-requisite conditions and successfully participated in the exercise were considered, the statement added.
A breakdown of the promotions shows that two staff members were elevated to the Director cadre (GL 17), while eight staff moved up to the Deputy Director cadre (GL 16).
In addition, thirty-five staff members were promoted to the rank of Assistant Director (GL 15).
Further promotions saw thirty-five officers advance to the rank of Chief Identity Officer (GL 14), with one hundred and nine staff promoted to Assistant Chief Identity Officer (GL 13). Also, one hundred and thirteen officers were elevated to the rank of Principal Identity Officer (GL 12), while eighty-two staff members moved to the Senior Identity Officer cadre (GL 10). Another one hundred and thirty officers were promoted to the rank of Identity Officer I (GL 9).
Congratulating the newly promoted staff, Engr. Coker-Odusote urged them to view the advancement as a renewed call to higher responsibility and improved service delivery to the nation. She reiterated the Commission’s zero tolerance for extortion, warning all staff to desist from any form of unethical conduct.
The NIMC boss also encouraged all employees of the Commission to rededicate themselves to duty in the coming year, stressing the importance of ensuring the successful implementation of the National Identification Number (NIN) project in 2026. She reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to staff welfare and the promotion of the dignity of labour.
The approval and implementation of the promotions underscore NIMC’s resolve to motivate its workforce while strengthening institutional capacity for efficient national identity management.
